Lion's Valley Park Investigation

This investigation truly revealed some energy. Though there wasn't huge amounts of evidence that there was in fact paranormal activity, there were moments when one would truly feel energy. Our investigation was cut short due to rain, we lasted roughly about 2 hours. A brief history of Lion's Valley Park dates back to the 1800's when the valley itself thrieved with 5 saw mills along 16 Mile Creek. There was also a town that at one time reach roughly about 500 people in total population. By the 1880's there was only 2 families left in the area. But if one was to go into the valley park today, one would wonder were any of this evidence of this past was. Sadly, there is very little left from the period with the exception of a small chunk of stone wall from a mill. The valley is surrounded with three cemeteries of which at one point had serious erosion causing coffins to hang out over the hillside over looking the valley. In fact there was even caskets found floating down the creek. For more on Lion's Valley Park history.

In the meantime here are some pictures taken during our brief investigation, some of which revealed very interesting imagery. At one point I had taken a picture of what seemingly looks like the anomaly of a small boy. When the area was checked with an EMF detector, it spiked showing some energy. I have video footage from the area as well that hopefully will reveal further aspects of this hotspot in the park.

Is the entire 16 mile creek haunted?

How far north along the river from Lion's Valley Park is said to be haunted?

This is a joke. I grew up in Oakville and have gone to Lion's Valley for the last two decades. As teenagers we camped there every summer. There is nothing creepy or unusual about this park. Just because there's cemeteries around doesn't mean the place is haunted! All we've ever seen down there are deer and other small animals. We used to stay up nights there, took pictures, never felt anything. I believe in ghosts 100%, I also understand the paranormal enough to know that this photo "evidence" shows absolutely nothing!
It's too bad the Dundas bridge construction has the valley closed, but you can still go down by foot. Love this park the most in all of Oakville

I grew up not far from the park. In the 90's satanists or something used to use the park for gatherings. One night in the late spring in around 1996-97 a couple friends and I drove down there around midnight and saw a whole group of people in long black cloaks with hoods. What made it even more weird is that it was pouring rain and there were no other cars in the parking lot. They were all headed north into the field. We turned around and got out of there quick. I have heard similar stories from others in the area over the years and would like to hear from anyone else who might have seen that kind of thing going on there.

Ontop of the small amount of wall left from the village, there is also an abandoned house sized mental hospital located about 30-45 minutes off path into the park, this place gives you the creeps, front door is locked, but just head around to the back door, leads straight to the basement which you can gain access to the staircase, I am warning you now, there is a yellow room (padded room) that is accessible, but if you and everybody your with goes into this room and the door closes behind you it WILL lock, the door can only be opened from the outside, so be safe and enojoy!

Hey so wanted to add to this. This place is EXTREMELY haunted. I've had experiences in the area along with friends and co-workers that changed all of us for LIFE. Yes to the groups gathering, there, saw that during the day, and can't even begin to describe it, but I'll try.
So after a series of strange and horrifying events in the graveyard, I worked at Trafalger Lawn cemetery on the hill, my GF at the time went into the park one late saturday afternoon as the sun was setting and it was like a scene from a happy movie: people fishing, people picknicing, twenty somethings gathered by cars drinking. And there must have been around twenty people in these various little groups. But as we walked past them, we both realized that even in our close proximity, there was NO SOUND. No one was talking to each other, no murmer of laughter or chit chat. DEAD SILENCE. We immediately stopped walking futher, and when we looked around realized every one of the various groups had stopped their activity and were looking at us, silently. It turned into a beautiful day into a horror film scene. We were SO scared, but we managed to walk back to our car and get in. We watched all the people as they still watched us, and the feeling was SO ominous and terrifying and disconnected that we almost crashed getting the fuck out of there. We were too terrified to ever go back there.

But that's one of many many stories from that place, in the early 90's. Want to know if anyone else is researching this, to please post or comment, as I really want to hear more, and share more of these paranormal events that happened there.

the stuff that happened in the cemetery, changed all the people that worked there to this day. so curious; anyone else want to post their experience?

Umm. If you are referring to the old School House by old 4th then I can assure everyone that it is NOT a mental hospital and there is NO padded room. Aside from that there are no other abandoned buildings anywhere in the park. I should know I grew up 5 minutes from there and have explored every inch of that park and valley right up to Lower Base Line.

There isnt one. Likely just trolling. There is only an old school house that doesnt have a padded room.

This was a very nice post, I enjoyed reading all these comments very much! I don't live far from this intriguing park and find these comments very insightful. My friends and I like to adventure these vast plantations and find paranormal activity very exciting. I have not yet come across the cemeteries or abandoned schoolhouse, but I would love to check it out. If anyone has an in depth description on how to find the so called "schoolhouse", please leave a comment for your fellow southern ontario paranormal society members. I would also love to hear more of your stories you've experienced so make sure to tell your tale. Thank you!
